The Nest · Children's Studio · Twilight

Where young foxes and owls find their story.

Weekly semester classes for ages 4–12+, where children explore story, art, and the natural world — taught in small, mixed-age groups with a homeschool-friendly rhythm.

A studio of their own

Some lessons arrive as stories. Others grow in the garden.

The Nest is the children's studio at The Fox & The Owl: a place built around instruction with imagination at its center. Each semester, children gather twice a week for classes that braid together storytelling, art, movement, and the natural world — the kind of learning that doesn't feel like sitting still.

Classes meet Tuesday and Thursday during the day, in step with the rhythm of homeschool families — though every family is welcome, and every child belongs.

Two paths, one nest

This semester's classes.

The Lore Keepers

Weekly · ages 4–12+ · Tue/Thu daytime

Fables, folktales, and myths from around the world, brought to life through movement, art, and storytelling. One week the class becomes a fox outwitting a crow; the next, they're painting the phoenix they just heard rise.

Global traditions, hands-on projects, and plenty of room for a child's own telling of the tale.

For the child who asks “and then what happened?”

The Wild Path

Weekly · ages 4–12+ · Tue/Thu daytime

The natural world, met with curiosity and dirt under the fingernails. Plants, animals, and the turning of the seasons explored through art, gardening, and group play — a semester that changes as the year does.

Seed to sprout, acorn to oak, observation to wonder.

For the child whose pockets come home full of rocks.

Mixed ages, by design

Older students mentor. Younger ones discover.

Like siblings around a table, children learn as much from each other as from any lesson plan. Our groups are mixed-age on purpose.

Nestlings

The youngest explorers

Wonder-first. Stories, senses, and small hands learning what they can make.

Fledglings

Finding their wings

Bigger projects, bolder questions, and the first taste of leading a younger friend.

Pathfinders

The eldest, 12 and up

Mentors in the making. They guide, demonstrate, and discover that teaching is its own kind of learning.

Cohort names may evolve as the first families make them their own.

For the grown-ups

The kids get their time. So you get yours.

While your child is in class, you're already here — and the rest of The Fox & The Owl is a few steps away.

The Aerie

Wellness studio

Take a yoga class, breathe, or claim a quiet hour with a journal while the storytelling happens down the hall.
